Circa 1900–1915

A wonderfully romantic Edwardian blouse in fine, lightweight white cotton, distinguished by an exceptional oversized cape collar edged with delicate layers of scalloped lace.

Soft gathering throughout the bodice gives the blouse an airy, almost ethereal quality. The generous rounded collar falls gracefully across the shoulders and upper back, finished with two delicate rows of lace edging that beautifully frame the garment.

The long sleeves are softly gathered and finish in narrow cuffs trimmed with matching lace. The fine, lightly textured cotton has a lovely translucency and softness characteristic of delicate garments from the period.

The back is particularly charming, with the generous collar spreading gracefully across the shoulders before falling into the softly gathered bodice. Its slightly cropped silhouette gives the blouse the feminine proportions so characteristic of turn-of-the-century dress.

Beautiful worn with a high-waisted skirt, layered beneath a jacket, or simply displayed as a piece of textile history.
